What a week!! This past Saturday, our baby turned 4!! It seemed we had been counting down the days to her birthday FOREVER, and it FINALLY arrived! Claire was elated that even though no family was able to be here, she still got tons of presents in the mail. Here a some pics of her special day:

We also had two teeth come out this past week. Aiden's first one came out last Wednesday. Evelyn's tooth that has been hanging on by a thread forever, finally fell out tonight.
Tooth fairy got creative tonight.
We've been seeing lots of different bugs/ wildlife around here lately. The kids were amused by this praying mantis. Every time they blew on it, the arms would open up. Jake took this picture of it.
In school, Jacob has been converting fractions to decimals, and vice versa. In Language Arts. we're continuing the study of colons, semi-colons, underlining, and quotation marks. History has taken us to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Nepal. We've been studying light in science. Today we learned about the eyeshine in certain animals.
Evelyn is still working on long division and learning how to check those problems using multiplication. She is almost finished with her study on commas in language arts. We've just started working on map skills in history, and just finished up our study of vertebrates in science. We also just started our study on the artist, Vincent van Gogh.
Aiden is learning to sound words out. His sight words this week were we and is.
He made a color book where he glued different objects on a page with the appropriate color.
Searching for the word is on his paper.
Number puzzle
Paintbrush game
Clothespin number match
Claire was focusing on the letter D this week.
Dinosaur cut and paste
D lacing
Had to get a picture of the cute boots we got at the church consignment sale.
D pattern blocks
She was using the new stapler she got her birthday to staple the papers she cut out together.
Lacing beads
Doing her maze paper
Dinosaur graphing
And of course, we ended the week with a letter D party. We had Deli sandwiches, Doritos, and Dirt pudding while watching Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The youngest two were terrified at the thought of eating dirt and worms, but were eager to try it once they saw what it really was. Claire had the great idea to play a game of Dominoes, so we ended the night with that,
We've completed eight weeks of school already. We're learning lots, and having fun too.
